Trainees learn about cameras at St James Community CentreIn order to give you an idea of what to expect from our training, we normally run a taster session (about 1½ to 2 hours) where anyone who is interested can learn the basics about how to use a camera, how to put together the shape of the story they want to tell, and how to edit it.

If, as we hope, you are enthusiastic about what you’ve learned and want to know more, we can then run a more detailed training course of 10 hours (usually in 5 two-hour sessions).

All these sessions are arranged at locations across the borough so there will always be one near you.

Once you have successfully completed the 10 hour course you will receive a certificate and will have the opportunity of using the video-equipment which is being stored at a number of strategic centres throughout Wirral.

If you would like to learn even more, we can run further, more detailed courses and Birkenhead Sixth Form College is offering its own NVQ-based course.

Remember, all our training is free to you!
